Cute Movie
I just watched the cutest movie, New In Town, with Harry Connick, Jr. and Renee Zellweger. Besides being a wonderful “chick flick”, the movie also has a strong scrapbooking (traditional) subtheme.
The writer’s wife is an avid scrapbooker and he wanted to incorporate her hobby into the movie and he did a good job of it. As a designer, I really enjoyed the subtheme.
The DVD even has a special feature about scrapbooking. If you haven’t watched it yet, plan to do so soon!

Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother's Day
I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day today. Mine was VERY, VERY quiet. We just finished a 3-day garage sale and all I wanted to do after standing on the concrete driveway all that time was SIT DOWN. Been catching up on emails, blogs, and forums.
Hubs popped a big batch of popcorn (really popped not the microwave kind) and we sat and watched a movie. It was just what we needed!
Take care.
Happy scrappin' ~ Susan
Beautiful Snow Angel
I had a chance to do a bit of digi-scrapping this morning. I’ve been itching to use my new Layered Sketch Template 61 design. Even as a designer, I find using digital scrapbooking templates is an easy way to get my layouts off to a quick start.

All Is Calm The Weekend After
Was your celebration quiet or CRAZY?
I hope you all are enjoying the Holidays as much as I am. Hubby and I had a nice quiet morning. We woke up early and I do mean EARLY before the sun was up and we cooked up a "stick to our ribs" breakfast because we weren't supposed to have Christmas dinner until 4:00pm. Dinner was the typical craziness with the in-laws, nieces and nephews, new baby, etc. Fun but busy!
The temperature was in the 50s yesterday and only about 30 degrees today. BRRRRR! Sounds like I'll be snuggling in for some serious photoshopping time this weekend!
Did the economy effect your holiday?
Bob and I, thankfully, are in the position to purchase what we want when we want it, within reason
. Even so we decided to keep it SIMPLE this year. We had both recently purchased some new software that we wanted so we made a pact – call it a challenge - to only spend $5.00 for stocking stuffers. Hubby succeeded. I failed! What can I say? The older the boy, the more expensive the toy.
Bob's been wanting a gizmo to measure how much electricity something uses. This is different than just measuring volts and amps. The example I told the guy at Lowe's was measuring a refrigerator's usage. All day long you open and close the door which makes the compressor come on. Next the freezer goes through the defrost/frost-free cycle. Therefore you need to have something that would measure the power usage over a period of time. He looked at me like I was NUTS!
Unexpected Good Luck!
Dummy me… I thought this would be something easy to find so I didn't go shopping for it until Monday! Anyway, I stopped at Harbor Freight Tools just in case they might have it or something similar. I think everyone else was buying tools that day too! It was extremely busy! I found a gal stocking shelves and repeated my refrigerator story but not with very high hopes. To my amazement she looked at me and said, "Oh, you want a Kill A Watt". So off to the electrical aisle we went but NO Kill A Watt could be found. She willingly went to the stock room to search and, of course, found one!
I tried to tell my hubby that I really didn't overspend because knowing he was going to eventually purchase one I actually saved him $5.00!
Hope you have a great weekend! ~Susan
